Joe orders additional lights, better toilets for ‘Super’

ILOILO City – Mayor Jose Espinosa III ordered improvement s at the Iloilo Terminal Market (popularly called “Super”) following a recent “surprise” visit.

“We really would like to know what the concerns of our market vendors are and also to personally determine what needs to be done, to be improved and how can we provide convenient services to market customers,” said Espinosa.

He ordered Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO) head Jose Ariel Castañeda and City Engineer Roberto Divinagracia to put up additional lights inside and outside the market, renovate the comfort rooms and conduct regular decloging of drainage systems to prevent flooding.

“We would like to thank Mayor Joe for personally visiting the Terminal Market. Actually, we conduct regular declogging here but with what he has instructed us, rest assured that we will continue to do it,” Castañeda said.

He added Espinosa also ordered to fix the roof of the market’s second floor.

LEEO is the city government body overseeing the operation of public markets. (Merianne Grace Ereñeta, Iloilo City PIO/PN)
