Join Capiz’s 1M Kahoy project

CAPIZ – The Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CAPENRO) is encouraging Capisnons to participate in the 1M Kahoy Project.

CAPENRO is making a countdown to the Provincial Arbor Day on June 25. The 1M Kahoy Project will be relaunched.

The collective tree planting, now in its fifth year, is part of CAPENRO’s Go Green Capiz campaign toward an ecologically sustainable and resilient province.

The project started in 2018 as One Million Trees in One Day Project. In 2019 it was renamed One Million Trees in One Day Challenge.

In 2020, the massive tree growing activity was renamed 1Million Kahoy Project.

According to CAPENRO, due to the devastating deforestation of forest lands in the province, Gov. Esteban Evan  Contreras signed Executive No. 15 stating that Capisnons aged 12 years and up should engage in growing one million trees to combat climate change for a greener and more resilient Capiz./PN
