NIKOLA Jokic delivered a dominant all-around performance to power Denver Nuggets to a 136-134 overtime win against the San Antonio Spurs in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Saturday night at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
The Serbian center finished with 40 points, 13 assists, and eight rebounds, orchestrating Denver’s offense throughout the contest as they end the visitors’ 11-game winning run.
Jokic played a crucial role late in regulation, setting up Aaron Gordon for a tying dunk that forced overtime before taking control in the extra period and secure the narrow victory.
Christian Braun and Cameron Johnson added 21 and 17 markers, respectively, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray tallied 15 points each, and Tim Hardaway Jr. ended with 10 off the bench for the Nuggets.
San Antonio put up a balanced offensive effort, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Rookie standout Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 34 points and 18 rebounds, but his performance was not enough to extend the team’s streak.
Stephan Castle added 20 markers, Devin Vassel and Justin Champagnie contributed 18 markers each, DeAarox Fox, Filipino-American Dylan Harper, and Keldon Johnson ended with 16, 12, and 10 for the Spurs.
The loss marked San Antonio’s first defeat after a strong stretch of consecutive wins, while Denver capitalized on Jokic’s leadership to come away with the hard-fought result.
In Miami, Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 32 points, Kel’el Ware finished with 24 points, 19 rebounds and seven blocks, and the Heat rolled past the Washington Wizards 152-136.
Bam Adebayo — who scored 83 points in Miami’s last game with Washington — faced a triple-team on his first possession and scored 14 for Miami. Andrew Wiggins had 21 and Pelle Larsson scored 16 for the Heat.
Miami reached 150 points for the third time in franchise history. It scored 153 against New Orleans last April 11 — and finished with 150 against the Wizards in Adebayo’s 83-point night on March 10.
Will Riley scored 31 for Washington, which has reached the 60-loss mark for the third straight season. Sharife Cooper scored 20 for the Wizards, who trailed by as many as 35 at one point./PN
