MANILA – Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers went on a huge surge in the fourth period for a come-from-behind 64-58 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball last night at the JRU Gym.


Trailing 38-45 after three quarters, the Heavy Bombers went on a 16-2 scoring blast at the start of the fourth quarter behind Chester Jungco and John Amores to take a 54-47 advantage.

The Generals made its last push at 54-60 behind JP Maguliano but the Heavy Bombers tightened its defense before Amores and JL Delos Santos made their free throws to increase the lead to double figures.

Amores finished the match with 16 points and six rebounds as the Heavy Bombers notched its third victory in seven matches despite the absence of suspended Agem Miranda.


The Heavy Bombers surged to a strong start with Amores draining back-to-back triples and General held to just four points in the first 10 minutes. EAC, however, made its run in the second period to come to within 25-32 at the half.


The Generals continued its run in the third canto as the hold the Heavy Bombers to just six points while making a run of their own behind CJ Cadua to build its largest lead of seven points./PN
