ILOILO City – A village councilman and two relatives have been charged with grave slander by deed, a police report showed.
Kagawad John Sequio, 43, and relatives Claire Octavio, 30, and Cristina Sequio, 65, were arrested in their respective houses in Barangay Balabag, Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
Octavio was also charged with grave oral defamation.
Officers served them warrants of arrest at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
The suspects were detained at the municipal police station.
Judge Rodolfo Convocar of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court issued the warrants and set the bail bond at P18,000 for each of the suspects./PN
