ILOILO City – For illegal possession of firearm, a village councilman was arrested in Barangay Lantangan, Puntevedra, Capiz.
Police nabbed 53-year-old Joseph Manican around 7 a.m. on Sept. 10, a police report showed.
He was caught carrying an improvised .45-caliber gun while conducting patrol in their village.
Manican failed to show pertinent papers showing legal ownership of the weapon, police said.
The councilman was taken to the Puntevedra police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act will be filed against him./PN
