ILOILO – Two men lost their lives when their vehicle slammed into the wall of a hardware store in Barangay Alaycagan, Banate town at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
The casualties were identified as 22-year-old Neri John Cala-or, who was driving a Toyota Corolla, and his passenger, 23-year-old Junrell Bajade.
Both victims hailed from Barangay Belen, Banate.
Police Captain General Enrique Robles, police chief of Banate, said the men were returning home from the Banate esplanade. The accident occurred as they were navigating a curve near the Alacaygan Bridge.
Cala-or reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the hardware shop’s wall.
The impact was severe enough to eject Bajade from the passenger seat, while Cala-or was trapped inside the wreckage.
Robles noted that both individuals were under the influence of alcohol and driving at a high speed./PN
