ILOILO City – If you wish to learn more about the Association Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN), two information kiosks will help you.
On Saturday, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) launched two information kiosks at the Iloilo International Airport arrival area and SM City Iloilo activity center in Mandurriao district.
“These will serve as platforms to make sure the public is well-informed about the programs and projects of the government, especially about the ASEAN meetings in the country,” said PIA director general Harold Clavite who led the launching.
The two kiosks were among the 10 kiosks set up all over the country since the ASEAN Summit kicked off last month. The Philippines is this year’s Summit host.
Fliers and brochures about ASEAN as well as other information materials relative to the national government’s various programs are available at the kiosks.
According to Clavite, these kiosks will continue to be available even after the country’s hosting of ASEAN meetings this year is over.
PIA will establish more information kiosks in areas of convergence such as bus terminals, schools and among others as its continuing commitment of inform the public about the government’s undertakings, programs and projects.
Iloilo City is hosting two ASEAN meetings – the 22nd Senior Officials Committee for the ASCC (SOCA) and the 17th ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) meeting./PN
