ILOILO City – Antique Lone District’s Cong. Antonio Agapito “AA” Legarda was the sole lawmaker from Panay Island who did not sign the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte-Duterte.
The younger brother of Sen. Loren Legarda has yet to issue an official statement explaining his decision of not signing up for the impeachment.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers from Panay who endorsed the Vice President’s impeachment are the following:

A total of 215 out of 306 lawmakers agreed to be named as complainants in the articles of impeachment against Vice President Duterte-Carpio that was transmitted by the House to the Senate on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The complaint listed seven articles of impeachment, namely:
* Betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, and high crimes when she admitted contracting an assassin to kill the President, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez;
* Betrayal of public trust, and graft and corruption when she allegedly misused public funds as head of the Office of the Vice President and secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd);
* Betrayal of public trust, bribery, and other acts of graft and corruption when she supposedly distributed monetary gifts to DepEd officials holding procurement-related functions;
* Culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust in relation to her supposed unexplained wealth;
* High crimes, in relation to her alleged role in the extrajudicial killings in Davao City;
* Betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, and high crimes when she “committed acts of political destabilization”; and
* Betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, and graft and corruption through the totality of Duterte-Carpio’s conduct./PN
