CAPIZ – A 108-year-old woman from Barangay Yatingan, Pontevedra, Capiz got vaccinated against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recently.

Carolina Badana is Capiz’s “oldest bakuna champion,” according to Dr. Alex Nolasco, Provincial Health Office (PHO) head.

She could very well be also the oldest in the Philippines to be vaccinated against COVID-19, Nolasco added.

Lola Carolina is among the 47.43 percent or 39,183 senior citizens of the 82,619 master-listed Capiz residents belonging to the A2 Priority Group or elderly who got their first dose of anti-COVID-19 vaccines.

Nolasco hoped that Lola Carolina’s vaccination should encourage more Capiz residents to also have themselves inoculated./PN
