AKLAN – With the sun rising over Station 2, Love Boracay 2025 officially launched last week, blending sports, arts, and community activities in a celebration that underscores the island’s commitment to sustainable tourism.
The week-long event opened with a lively early morning zumba, followed by an official program by the beach that welcomed both tourists and locals. The first day highlights included two major water competitions — the colorful Paraw Regata – Pinta Layag and the adrenaline-filled International Dragon Boat Race.
Throughout the week, the celebration continues with a mix of beach sports and local showcases. On Saturday, April 26, Boracay hosted a sandcastle making contest, a frisbee tournament, and a beach volleyball competition, while beach basketball took center stage yesterday.
The grand finale of the festivities features Hydro Boracay: The Takeover and a beach music festival on May 1, paired with the traditional Fiesta de Obreros in Poblacion, Malay — a nod to workers’ contributions in time for Labor Day./PN
