ILOILO City – A woman, her daughter and son were arrested in a buy-bust operation of the police in Barangay Mongpong, Roxas City.

Fifteen sachets of shabu were recovered from Remegia Cabalo, 55, daughter Mercy, 23, and son Gennie, 26, said Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, Capiz police director.

The Cabalos were taken to Roxas City police station.

Remegia was a high-value target of the police, sad Nacion.

The antidrug operation was carried out around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. An undercover police officer was able to buy a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 from the suspects.

Fourteen more were found in their possession and these were valued at P225,000.

Nacion said Remegia’s husband was serving time at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila also for an illegal drug case.

Last year Remegia turned herself in to the police and stopped her operation, said Nacion.

Early this year, however, the Capiz police received information that Remegia resumed her illegal                activities covering Capiz, Roxas City, Aklan, especially Boracay Island and aided by her children, he said.

From what the police so far gathered, Remegia got her stock from the New Bilibid Prison, said Nacion./PN
