ILOILO City – A 29-year-old man was hacked to death by a drunk neighbor yesterday in Barangay Lanag Norte, Tubungan, Iloilo.
Patrick B. Casquite was attacked around 1:35 a.m. He was declared dead at the Tubungan Rural Health Unit.
The suspect was George E. Tacan, 49. He and a companion were binge drinking with the victim in the house of Erlinda Casquite, the victim’s mother.
“May pilas ang aton biktima sa dughan tuga sang buno, kag ginlabo pa gid siya sa tuhod, luku-lukuan kag iban nga parte sang lawas,” Police Master Sergeant Jasper Ryan Bastonero of Tubungan police told Panay News.
The suspect surrendered to the police hours after the incident and was detained at Tubungan Police Station.
“Wala sila record nga indi pag intindihanay. Laban nga isturya hinubog lang gid ini,” said Bastonero./PN
