NEGROS Occidental – The father and son were wounded after they were hacked by the former’s youngest child in Sitio Kabayabasan, Barangay Montilla, Moises Padilla town.
The Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the victims as Sunny Boy Villaber Sr., 78, and Marvin Villaber , 24, both residents of the said barangay.
Personnel of the Moises Padilla Rescue Team brought the victims to the Moises Padilla Infirmary but were later transferred to the Isabela District Hospital for further medical care.
Police reported that the suspect identified as Sunny Boy Villaber Jr., 21, was having a drinking session with his father-in-law at his residence in the same village on Wednesday night, August 27. For still unknown reasons, the suspect allegedly went to the house of his father and older brother, who were also drinking, and suddenly attacked them with a bladed weapon at around 6:30 p.m.
Marvin sustained hack wounds to the head, right shoulder, and buttocks, while Sunny Boy Sr., who tried to pacify the suspect, was also struck on the head.
Police said the motive appears to be an old family grudge.
As of this writing, the suspect remained at large. Moises Padilla police were coordinating with barangay officials for his possible arrest. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
