ROXAS City – Police arrested a 28-year-old man for alleged possession of a grenade and ammunition during a raid on June 23 in Barangay Dayao here.
Police served the search warrant at around 4:45 p.m. at the temporary residence of the suspect, alias “Toto”, where they seized one hand grenade and four live cartridges of caliber .45 firearm.
The search warrant was issued on June 16, 2025, by Judge Lorencito Diaz of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 17, 6th Judicial Region.
The suspect, a resident of the city’s Barangay Tanque, was reportedly staying in Dayao, as confirmed by the presence of his personal belongings at the location. However, Barangay Dayao captain Winnie Batuampo clarified that Toto is not a registered resident of their barangay.
Authorities were currently investigating how and why the suspect was staying in Dayao.
