Man nabbed with P714K ‘shabu’ in Pototan

ILOILO City – A high-value drug suspect was arrested on July 7 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose Ward, Pototan, Iloilo.

According to Lieutenant Adrian Baligod, deputy chief of the Pototan Municipal Police Station (MPS), the 42-year-old alias “Isboy,” a resident of the same place, was caught at 7:54 p.m. after he sold suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,600.

Officers of the Pototan MPS’ Station Drug Enforcement Team seized a total of 15 big plastic sachets of the said illegal substance weighing around 105 grams and valued at approximately P714,000.

“We received information from concerned citizens regarding the suspect’s illegal activity… We conducted surveillance and validation for over a month before the operation,” Baligod told Panay News.

The suspect allegedly sourced his supply from Iloilo City and distributed illegal drugs in Pototan and nearby towns.

Isboy was detained at Pototan MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Colonel Roland Bulalacao, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), lauded the Pototan cops’ intensified effort in the campaign against illegal drugs.

He also extended his gratitude to the Ilonggo community, emphasizing that their unwavering support and cooperation are crucial to achieving success in these efforts.

“We won’t let illicit drugs ruin our people’s lives. We’ll relentlessly pursue everyone involved in illegal drugs and ensure they face the consequences. I’m warning you now: Stop your illegal activities, or you’ll rot in jail,” he added./PN
