ILOILO – A 50-year-old man was shot to death in Barangay Agutayan, Dueñas town around 11:40 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2.
Police said the victim, identified as “Joemarie,” a resident of the aforementioned place, succumbed to a gunshot wound on his stomach.
According to Police Captain Jesus Batilante, acting chief of Dueñas Municipal Police Station, the victim and his cousin “Andrew,” 40, were both inebriated at a birthday party when a heated argument ensued between them.
Andrew later went home, and came back armed and shot the victim, Batilante said.
The acting police chief added that the two bore old grudges against each other.
The suspect fled and remained at large as of this writing, police said./PN
