ILOILO City – A 36-year-old man was shot to death in Barangay San Antonio, San Enrique, Iloilo over a land dispute.

Adonis Tedios died of multiple gunshot wounds on the chest, abdomen and right leg on March 22.

The suspect was Tedios’ uncle, Henry Alada.

Tedios was shot around 5:30 p.m. in front of his house, according to San Enrique police investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Jeson Sofio.

Alada stopped his motorcycle in front of Tedios, fired shots at his nephew then left, said Sofio.

Despite his wounds, Tedios was able to run away. He was found dead around 3 a.m. of the following day in a grassy area near his house.

“The victim’s family thought he managed to hide somewhere. They were surprised to find him dead,” said Sofio.

The families of Tedios and Alada were both claiming ownership of a piece of land in Barangay San Antonio. The dispute has reached the Municipal Agrarian Reform Office but the MARO has yet to resolve the ownership issue.

As of this writing, Alada’s whereabouts remained unknown./PN
