ILOILO City – A 53-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a land dispute in Barangay Preciosa, Sara, Iloilo.
Alias “Jeffrey” sustained wounds on his arm. He was recuperating at the hospital.
According to Staff Sergeant Rio Bañares, investigator of the Sara Municipal Police Station, the victim was overseeing the construction of a rest house on a vacant lot that the suspect, alias “Ron”, had long claimed as his own, on Saturday, August 17.
The suspect, together with his father, arrived at around 11:15 a.m. and demanded that the construction be halted, leading to a heated argument.
As tensions escalated, Bañares said the suspect stabbed the victim using an ice pick.
The suspect and his father immediately fled after the incident and remained at large as of this writing, police said./PN
