ILOILO City – Two individuals, including a 16-year-old boy, were apprehended early yesterday morning, Nov. 25, for possession of marijuana in Barangay North Baluarte, Molo district.
Captain Ryan Christ Inot, chief of the Molo police station, said the suspects identified as aliases “Jan-Jan”, 20, and “Toto”, 16, initially ignored warnings to return home by patrolling barangay tanods. Instead, they fled and retrieved a plastic package from the roadside.
Tanods intercepted the pair and conducted a search, uncovering two small plastic sachets containing marijuana. The estimated street value of each sachet is around P500.
The suspects admitted to using marijuana, Inot said.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects had allegedly purchased the marijuana through Facebook and repackaged it for resale, he added.
Jan-Jan is currently detained at the Molo police station while the minor was turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for further intervention./PN
