BACOLOD City – The logo and music of MassKara Festival 2017 was officially launched yesterday at the Bacolod City Government Center lobby.
Five days before the celebration, the Silver Masskara Festival Organization presented the festival logo and music to the media and Bacolodnons.
This year’s MassKara theme is “Bacolod: City of Southeast Asia.”
The logo, which Mark Lester Jarmin designed, reflected the “colorful lifestyle and culture of the city.”
Jarmin, of Barangay Banago, is a digital artist who designs character logos and illustrations for foreign clients.
Meanwhile, according to composer, arranger and producer Roberto “Bob” Aves, the MassKara music is a “fusion of the traditional, modern and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) culture.”
The music has three parts: intercultural dialog, street dancing and ASEAN integration.
As the city launched the MassKara logo and music, Mayor Evelio Leonardia said, “Happy days are here again.”
Leonardia hopes that this year’s festival will gather more crowd, which he referred to as a “sea of humanity.”
The city government, in partnership with the Megawarold Corp., will put up MassKara symbols to welcome tourists in the boundaries between Talisay and Bacolod cities.
The festival will be celebrated from Oct. 1 to 22./PN
