Metro Boracay cops gear for Holy Week

BORACAY – The Metro Boracay Task Force is taking security measures as the Holy Week approaches.

The police task force, covering this world-renowned island and the towns Nabas and Buruanga, is now on “red alert.”

Superintendent Ryan Manongdo, the task force’s head, said over 100 police personnel were already deployed in Boracay.

“Police personnel are ready to assist tourists in all their concerns on peace and order. We guarantee everyone their safety as long as they are cooperating,” Manongdo said.

The Philippine Coast Guard and the Caticlan jetty port management are also targeting zero stranding of tourists in Boracay this Holy Week season, from March 25 to 31./PN
