Midnight blackout set in Aklan

KALIBO, Aklan – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has scheduled a four-hour power interruption in the province.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the blackout will start on Oct. 30 midnight. From 12 a.m., the power is expected to resume around 4 a.m.

“We will exert all our efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled,” the NGCP added.

The advisory was relayed from the Aklan Electric Cooperative office, the power distributor of the province.

Among the tasks to be undertaken are the hotspot corrections at Panit-an-Nabas substation; the Caticlan 69 KV line to Nabas, Aklan; and the relocation of capacitor bank panels and the reconnection of loop in Nabas to Culasi, Antique.

Thousands of member consumers from all over the province including the Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan will be affected in the said power interruptions.

The NGCP, meanwhile, announced a power interruption from four to five a.m. today at the Cubay and Cardidad Substation of the Antique Electric Cooperative./PN
