ILOILO City – MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) has assured the public that it is 100% prepared for the Dinagyang Festival 2026 celebration.
In a statement, Engineer Roy Majarucon, manager of Line Construction, Maintenance, and Metering Operations, said that line teams have already conducted inspections in the judging areas.
Activities carried out include transformer load testing near the judging areas, thermal scanning, and other necessary maintenance work.
The deployment plan for the response and line teams is already complete, and they will be on duty monitoring the power situation from January 22 to 25, 2026.
A total of 13 line teams, 26 response teams, and four quick response teams have been deployed to ensure 24-hour monitoring throughout the city.
The entire operations force of MORE Power is also prepared to assist the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Incorporated in setting up the necessary power lines, from the food festivals to the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan and the Ati Tribe Competition at all judging areas.
There will be no scheduled power interruptions during the celebration.
Meanwhile, MORE Power’s Control Center and Customer Helpline will remain on 24-hour standby to respond to consumer inquiries.
MORE Power’s safety officers are also reminding residents and festival-goers throughout the city to remain cautious and to properly secure balloons, as these may fly away and potentially cause unscheduled power interruptions. /PN
