KALIBO, Aklan – Students and fresh graduates composed majority of Aklanons who passed the recent Civil Service Commission (CSC) examinations, an agency official said.

The CSC administered Professional and Sub-professional tests on Aug. 6.

Fifty-six of the 786 Sub-professional examinees from Aklan passed, CSC Aklan Field Office director Evelyn N. Ejar said, citing results released earlier this month.

“There was even one senior high school student who took the Sub-professional examination and passed,” Ejar said.

Among 2,680 Professional examinees from the province, 183 passed, said Ejar.

She also said Aklan posted the highest passing percentage in Western Visayas, which had more or less 15,000 examinees.

This suggests that interest in joining the government workforce is high among young Aklanons, the CSC official said.

Meanwhile, Ejar called on all government workers to give their best in serving the public.

The CSC is celebrating the 117th Philippine Civil Service anniversary with the theme “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago, Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani.”

State workers must serve with malasakit, or compassion, said Ejar. (PIA/PN)
