Motorcycle driver shot to death

BACOLOD City – Joemarie Dalios Saracia was on his way to church Sunday morning when he was peppered with bullets.

The 44-year-old habal-habal (motorcycle for hire) driver died of multiple gunshot wounds on the head and body, police said.

At least five people were behind the attack, said Senior Inspector Randy Babor, head of the police in Isabela, Negros Occidental where the shooting happened.

The culprits waylaid Saracia in Barangay Sebucauan, Isabela at around 7:30 a.m., investigation showed.

On board motorcycles, they then fled toward the hinterlands of Barangay Sikatuna, the police learned from witnesses.

Police recovered from the crime scene 10 fired cartridge cases and two empty shells of a .45 pistol.

Investigators have yet to identify a suspect and determine the motive as of this writing./PN
