ROXAS City – A motorcycle driver sustained serious injuries after colliding with a dump truck at a highway crossing in Barangay Lawaan here early Monday morning, June 29.
The victim, identified as alias “Micka,” 24, a resident of Sitio Bang-ogay, Barangay Natividad, Pilar, Capiz, is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Initial investigation by the Roxas City Police Station revealed that the incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. near a local bank. Micka was reportedly traveling at high speed toward the city proper when the motorcycle slammed into a dump truck driven by 57-year-old alias “Robert,” a resident of Barangay Dinginan, Roxas City.
Traffic investigators suggest that a failure to yield the right-of-way may have triggered the crash, though the precise circumstances are still under examination. The impact caused injuries to the head and various parts of the victim’s body, while the driver of the dump truck was unharmed.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene to provide immediate medical assistance before rushing the severely injured motorist to the hospital.
