ILOILO – A motorcycle driver was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after colliding with a truck in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan town late Sunday night, July 12.
Pototan police said the incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m.
The motorcycle was heading toward the town’s Barangay Poblacion when it encountered the oncoming truck, which was traveling from Roxas City, according to an Aksyon Radyo Iloilo report.
The impact of the crash, police said, caused alias “Edu,” legal age, to be thrown from his vehicle. Emergency responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital but the attending medical personnel were unable to revive him.
Police added that the victim succumbed to severe injuries to his head and body.
As of this writing, the truck driver identified only by the alias “Romar” was detained at the Pototan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition./PN
