ILOILO City – The National Police Commission Region 6 (Napolcom 6) recently conducted an inspection to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to check if all government issued properties are still in their position.
“This inspection is part the annual inspection and to know the alertness of the police,” said Regional Director Atty. Joseph Celiz of Napolcom 6.
Attorney Rodney Zaragoza, Napolcom-6 official, led the inspection on Thursday.
They checked all issued government especially short and long firearms and patrol cars.
The result of their inspection will be assessed, Celiz said in a telephone interview, adding the police station so far has improved.
“I am very particular in checking the issued firearms to know if still in their possession or being pawned based on the order of the Commission on Audit,” said Celiz.
He added that those police personnel who pawned his service firearms will be held administratively liable depending to the explanation of the police.
“We are continuously checking every police station because we want to know their readiness and if they are present in the police station. I don’t want that the police will sleep or busy playing games in their cellular phone,” stressed Celiz. “We want the police are active and dedicated to their work to serve and protect to the community.”
ICPO director Colonel Martin Defensor meanwhile, said that their patrol cars and other issued government properties are intact including their service firearms.
“We are always ready either there is an inspection or none, I always told my men to be on their respective station and cater all the complaints and take the government properties,” Defensor said./PN
