GUIMARAS – In its continuing mission to make government services more accessible to every Guimarasnon, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Guimaras has intensified the rollout of the Barangay Civil Registry Assistance Program (BRAP) alongside the National ID mobile registration.
Thousands of Guimarasnons have so far benefited from BRAP, with PSA-Guimaras facilitating the processing, verification, and registration of birth records since its implementation.
As of August 22, a total of 3,646 records were submitted for verification, of which 2,990 were successfully verified and 2,363 were issued omnibus certification.
“Of these, 763 birth records have been registered through electronic endorsement, out-of-town processing, and regular processing,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
For Security Paper (SECPA) generation and awarding, 561 SECPA copies were generated — 84 from the Central Office (CO) and 477 from the Regional Statistical Services Office. So far, 208 SECPA copies have been awarded to beneficiaries, or 37 percent of the total generated.
In terms of municipal accomplishments, Nueva Valencia led with 1,384 submissions, 393 registered records, and the highest number of SECPAs awarded at 145 beneficiaries. The capital town of Jordan followed with 914 submissions and 183 registered records, and three copies of SECPAs awarded out of 145 available.
Other towns recorded the following: Buenavista registered 132 records from 512 submissions, with 33 SECAPAs awarded; San Lorenzo has 132 submissions, 26 registered records, and no SECPAs generated; and Sibunag submitted 704 records with 29 registered and awarded 27 out of 28 SECPAs.
Meanwhile, the National ID mobile registration has given residents the opportunity to secure their National Identification System (PhilSys) credentials in the form of a physical card, in paper format, or the Digital National ID accessible through the eGovPH app.
“This single, streamlined, and verifiable proof of identity is a vital tool in enhancing financial inclusion, simplifying government and private sector transactions, and expanding access to social protection programs,” Losare said.
By integrating the National ID with BRAP, PSA-Guimaras ensures that residents are not only registered in the civil registry system but also empowered with a National ID that strengthens their identity and participation in both social and economic activities.
“Civil registration and national identification go hand in hand in building a more inclusive society. By extending both services to the grassroots, PSA-Guimaras is making sure that every Guimarasnon is counted, recognized, and empowered,” Losare added./PN
