NBA: Phoenix Suns acquire O’neale, Roddy

PHOENIX Suns made their roster changes during the 2023-2024 NBA Season trade deadline as they acquired Royce O’Neale and David Roddy on separate deals on Thursday night (Friday in the Philippines).

In acquiring winger O’Neale from the Nets, the Suns send them forward Keita Bates-Diop, point guard Jordan Goodwin and three future second-round draft selections.

The Suns, on the other hand, Japanese forward Yuta Watanabe and center Chimezie Metu to Memphis Grizzlies to secure the services of forward Roddy.

The Nets, meanwhile, had a separate trade with Toronto Raptors, where they captured Dennis Schröder and Thaddeus Young in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie.

The Raptors, for their part, got their hand on Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji, while sending Kira Lewis, Otto Porter Jr., and a future first-round draft pick to Utah Jazz.

New York Knicks also bolstered their roster as they acquired Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic from Detroit Pistons for Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Evan Fournier, Ryan Ardiciacono and two future second-round picks.

The Pistons, despite already having a slim chance of advancing to the playoffs, also stayed busy as they also acquired Simone Fontecchio from the Jazz, and Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr., and a future second-round pick from Minnesota Timberwolves.

In exchange, the Pistons send Kevin Knox and a future second round pick to the Jazz, while also trading veteran guard Monte Morris to the Timberwolves.

Philadelphia 76ers, for their part, acquired Buddy Hield from Indiana Pacers in exchange for Marcus Morris, Furkan Korkmaz, and three future second-round picks.

The Pacers quickly shipped Morris to San Antonio Spurs for Doug McDermott and a second-round pick, while the 76ers got Cameron Payne and a second-round pick from Milwaukee Bucks for Patrick Beverley.

Dallas Mavericks, for their part, strengthened their frontline by getting P.J. Washington from Charlotte Hornets and Daniel Gafford from Washington Wizards.

In exchange, the Mavericks shipped Seth Curry, Grant Williams, and a 2027 first-round pick to the Hornets, while the traded Richaun Holmes and draft compensation to the Wizards.

The Hornets also parted ways with gunner Gordon Hayward, whom the send to Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Tre Mann, Davis Bertans, and Vasilije Micic.

Boston Celtics also added a veteran presence to their frontline as they acquired Xavier Tillman Sr. from the Grizzlies in exchange for Lamar Stevens and two future second-round draft picks.

The Celtics also acquired Jared Springer from the 76ers for a second-round pick, while they traded Dalano Banton to Portland Trail Blazers for a future second round pick.

Golden State Warriors shipped Cory Joseph to the Pacers for a future second-round draft pick, while the Bucks traded Robin Lopez to Sacramento Kings for a draft compensation./PN
