MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) opened the possibility of website administrator Rodel Jayme becoming a state witness against those behind the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.

NBI deputy director Ferdinand Lavin said it is “very possible” for them to make Jayme a state witness after the latter showed willingness to cooperate.

“That’s very possible,” Lavin said. “If you looked at the strategy of the NBI, we have to file a case against him because later on if we intend to consider him as a state witness, he should be charged first.”

He added a person charged in court may be discharged as a state witness under certain set of requirements. The resolution of the inciting to sedition complaint will show whether or not Jayme will be charged in court.

The 27-year-old Jayme said he is willing to become a state witness and vowed to identify the personalities behind the videos.

The “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos featured a hooded man identified as “Bikoy,” who claimed to be a former member of a drug syndicate and implicated President Rodrigo Duterte, his family and friends were involved in illegal drug trade.

Bikoy claimed the drug money was funneled into the bank accounts of Duterte’s son former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte, his son-in-law Manases Carpio and former aide Christopher “Bong” Go. /PN
