BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental has reminded all winning and losing candidates in the May 2025 midterm elections to submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) before the June 11 deadline.

Provincial election supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria said that, as of June 5, only 10 SOCEs have been received by his office — comprising eight winning candidates, one losing candidate, and one local political party at the provincial level.

Ananoria clarified that his office only handles SOCEs filed by candidates for provincial positions such as governor, vice governor, members of the House of Representatives, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan members.

SOCEs from municipal and city-level candidates are submitted to their respective local election officers. Ananoria said his office is still awaiting consolidated reports from these local Comelec offices.

The deadline for filing SOCEs is on June 11, which also marks the official end of the 2025 election period.

Ananoria urged those who have yet to file to do so promptly. He warned that failure to file a SOCE carries consequences: a fine for the first offense, and perpetual disqualification from holding public office for the second offense.

He also emphasized that winning candidates cannot assume office or take their oath without a certification of compliance from the Comelec./PN
