NegOcc cops gird for Holy Week

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) will intensify its police visibility operations across the province this upcoming Holy Week.

Noppo director Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil said “lawless elements are just waiting for an opportunity to strike, so let us all take necessary precautions to avoid being a victim of any crime.”

Police personnel will be deployed to terminals, ports, malls, churches, and other areas of convergence on Holy Week, which is locally seen as the start of the summer season.

“Violence is never tolerated, not even in this holy season,” Castil added.

Noppo will also establish police assistance hubs in strategic areas across the province.

His personnel will be patrolling subdivisions, villages and roads in Negros Occidental, Castil added.

He reminded the public to be vigilant while “celebrating this significant event in the Christian community.”

Information and education campaign materials, like leaflets and flyers, containing safety tips will be distributed to the public.

“[W]e all need to be safe at all times,” Castil stressed, appealing for the public’s support and cooperation.

The Philippine National Police has been on “full alert” since yesterday for the Oplan Summer Vacation 2018 that will last until June 13./PN
