NegOcc cops roll out security measures ahead of ‘undas’

BACOLOD City – The police in Negros Occidental is going on “full alert” status days before the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director Colonel Romeo Baleros said all personnel are expected to render duty and those on leave were recalled.

“A total of 448 police personnel will be deployed and will man various police assistance desks in the province’s 90 cemeteries, 47 bus terminals and 16 seaports,” said Baleros.

He added that remaining personnel will continue to perform regular police functions such as conducting patrols, border control and checkpoint operations.

According to Baleros, village watchmen and volunteers will also assist police in maintaining peace and order and, if necessary, render medical services.

Baleros also encouraged his personnel to visit their departed relatives prior to their Nov. 1 and 2 deployment to ensure their personal matters do not interfere with their respective duties./PN
