BACOLOD City – The number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Negros Occidental appeared to be declining, according to Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
For two weeks, Negros Occidental recorded triple digit cases. In recent days, however, it saw a reduction in new cases.
As of Sunday, Lacson said, Negros Occidental had 122 new recoveries and 22 new COVID-19 cases.
“That is a net recovery of 100,” the governor pointed out.
Lacson hoped the trend would continue. He urged Negrenses to continue being vigilant and strictly follow health protocols.
Meanwhile, Lacson said they will continue adopting the four-day workweek scheme at the provincial capitol until the number of COVID-19 cases sees a significant drop.
He pointed out no new cases of COVID-19 among capitol personnel.
As of April 25, Negros Occidental posted a total of 10,583 confirmed cases with 1,909 tagged as active, 8,420 recoveries and 254 deaths./PN
