BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental provincial government is planning to establish four additional dialysis centers across the province.
Currently, the only operational center is a 15-bed facility located at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City.
Meanwhile, another center at the Cadiz District Hospital has been completed and is awaiting the installation of equipment.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has confirmed that two more dialysis centers are underway, set to be constructed at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City and at the Valladolid District Hospital.
These new centers aim to improve patient access to dialysis treatments, eliminating the need for long-distance travel.
Furthermore, Lacson announced that the provincial government is in the process of upgrading TLJPH to Level 3, and both the Cadiz District Hospital and the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital to Level 2.
This strategic enhancement, based on the hospitals’ locations and the populations they serve, is intended to ensure the accessibility and availability of comprehensive medical services, facilities, and staff.
The governor has pledged ongoing support from the provincial government to secure funding for initiatives designed to provide financial assistance to the residents of Negros Occidental.
These initiatives include “no balance billing, medical assistance for indigent patients”, and the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
