NegOcc voter registrants near 4.6K

BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental revealed that the number of voter registrants in the province has reached almost 4,600 over the past three days.

Provincial Elections Supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria hopes to achieve the target of 200,000 registrants for the entire province, with the nationwide target set at 3 million voters by Sept. 30, 2024.

He further stated that Comelec offices in the province have not encountered major problems thus far.

Ananoria added that all other transactions, such as transfers, corrections, and reactivations, are accommodated, but new registrants are given priority.

Applicants were reminded anew to bring government-issued identification cards, such as the Social Security System or Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) ID, or barangay clearance with the registrant’s photo, signature, and permanent address.

On the first day of voter registration on Monday, Feb. 12, over 2,000 individuals registered in Negros Occidental and its capital city. (Watchmen Daily Journal)
