BACOLOD City – A native of Negros Occidental is the new spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP chief, General Guillermo Eleazar appointed Police Colonel Roderick Alba to the post, replacing Police Brigadier General Rolando Olay.
Alba starts his new assignment today, Oct. 1.
Alba was a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy, Class of 1992.
He was previously the officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), and provincial director of the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO).
Alba also served as head of the Regional Operation Plans and Division of the Police Regional Office 6, and later transferred to PNP’s headquarters in Camp Crame in Metro Manila serving as deputy director of the PNP’s Directorate for Information Technology Management System.
Since the PNP spokesman is required to have a star-rank position, Alba is expected to be promoted to Police Brigadier General soon.
