Negros Occ. cops on full alert for ‘undas’

BY RANIE AZUE AND CYRUS GARDE

BACOLOD City – The provincial police will make sure that lawless elements won’t be able to take advantage of undas in Negros Occidental.

Personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) are now on “full alert status.”

They will remain so until Nov. 1 (All Saints’ Day) and Nov. 2 (All Souls’ Day), according to Nocppo director Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil.

Castil said he already sent directives to all police stations and police units in the province.

Police personnel will be strategically deployed to cemeteries, transportation hubs, malls, public markets, and other places of convergence during undas.

Castil said their main objective is to reduce the incidence of criminal activities in these vulnerable areas.

Nocppo will also conduct operational and administrative activities to increase public awareness on crime prevention.

The public must also be “vigilant at all times,” said Castil./PN
