CAPIZ — The Capiz Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported a safe and incident-free observance of Holy Week 2026, with no casualties recorded across the province.

In a local radio interview, PDRRMO head Atty. Shiela Artillero said the council implemented rigorous monitoring and proactive measures to ensure public safety throughout the week.

Artillero emphasized that personnel were strategically deployed to safeguard both residents and visitors, as large crowds gathered for religious activities.

She also highlighted the strong collaboration among local agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard, which contributed to maintaining peace and order.

“These agencies played a crucial role in ensuring a secure environment, allowing worshippers to participate in religious activities without concern,” Artillero said.

Their presence enabled authorities to swiftly respond to any potential emergencies, helping maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the observance.

Artillero also noted an influx of visitors to the province during the Holy Week break, many of whom participated in traditional religious rites and sought to deepen their spiritual experience.

She assured the public that the PDRRMO remains on high alert and ready to respond to any unforeseen incidents, reaffirming the council’s commitment to continuously monitor and strengthen public safety measures throughout the holiday period./PN
