BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) has no personnel among the 2,600 errant cops facing charges or minor disciplinary action in 2022.

Negros policemen were faithful to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) rules and regulations, said Police Lieutenant Judesses Catalogo, NOCPPO spokesperson.

No NOCPPO personnel were dismissed from the service last year, he added.

On Monday, Jan. 2, PNP spokesperson, Police Colonel Redrico Maranan, said more than 2,051 police personnel were slapped with disciplinary actions for minor infractions.

A total of 584, meanwhile, were dismissed from the service for going “absent without official leave” (AWOL) or in worst cases getting implicated in criminal activities.

Other penalties aside from being kicked out of the police force include demotion in rank, suspension, salary forfeiture, restriction to quarters, denial of privileges, and reprimands./PN
