ROXAS City – There are no plans to relocate the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH), Gov. Antonio del Rosario stressed.

With the situation of the hospital, it is not feasible to end operations of the RMPH on Arnaldo Boulevard and transfer it to Barangay Lanot. It is better to add more hospitals, the local chief executive said.

The RMPH in Barangay Lanot will be the second provincial hospital in Capiz after its construction is finished, stressed Del Rosario.

The governor helped provide funds for the construction of the RMPH in Barangay Lanot when he was still Capiz’s 1st District congressman.

He was able to get some P 41 million worth of funds for the hospital in 2015 and legislated P50 million more before his last term in the House of Representatives ended.

Del Rosario said more patients will be served in the RMPH on Arnaldo Boulevard next year once the third floor is completely built.

There are plans lined up to improve the services of the four district hospitals in Capiz, he told the media in a recent press conference.

In a related development, RMPH will have its own 16-Slice CT Scan Machine within this month. (RJ Mijares, with reports from Michelle Oropio and Froilan Unarce/PN)
