SIMILAR to a “momentary lapse of reason”, we got together a bunch of seemingly unrelated comments just as in a free-flowing improvisation of riffs typical of avant-garde jazz eventually coming together in the end – or not, which leaves one hanging, perhaps wanting for more. Hence it is a “momentary lapse of reason”, this time “obscured by clouds.”

I find it ironic, even amusing, that the pseudo-communists could not appreciate the effect and purpose of crushed dolomite a.k.a. “white sand beach” now near the Roxas Boulevard portion of Manila Bay when it is a page from the Karl Marx school of thought, “Religion is the opium of the people.”
If you don’t get it, you’re confused. Wake up from your stupor.

Like it or not, from Cory Aquino, Fidel Ramos, Erap Estrada, Gloria Arroyo till Noynoy Aquino, the only President with the political will to clean up Boracay, and now Manila Bay, is Rodrigo Duterte. That is an indisputable fact.

The final nail has been hammered down, finally closing the coffin and confirming indeed it is dead.
It will probably require nothing short of an epiphany, perhaps a second coming, or a resurrection, to bring it back to life. But then again, stranger things have happened to this land.
It simply confirms that the universe is against you and when the universe is not on your side it simply means you lost.
The highest court in the land has decided you can’t get any higher than that. Beyond the Supreme Court is God, and I don’t think He accepts any appeals or some sort of reconsideration.
It would defy logic and plain common sense that the high court would contradict itself and take back what it decided en banc.
It just doesn’t make sense and neither does antagonizing the magistrates with self-serving innuendos.
Oh well, I suppose 25 years is just a temporary setback.

Some say the “white sand” beach in a portion of Manila Bay along Roxas Boulevard is just cosmetic, another window-dressing. But whatever it is, I’ll take that any day over garbage.
Which brings us to this: the usual suspects against the Manila Bay rehabilitation project have been shouting, “Stop the white sand enhancing and preserve the heritage!” I suppose they mean preserve the garbage.

So the EUP or European Union Parliament passed a resolution asking – or was it demanding? – that the Philippine government immediately drop all charges against Maria Ressa and renew the franchise of ABS-CBN. Really, who cares? The last time I checked, the Philippines is an independent, sovereign nation and not a colony or vassal of the EU.
So here’s my middle finger and up yours EUP. Clean your shit first because the stench is unbearable before you even think of meddling in the affairs of an independent and sovereign country.

And we segue to Obscured by Clouds, the seventh studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released on June 2, 1972 by Harvest and Capitol Records. It was based on their soundtrack for the French film La Vallée, by Barbet Schroeder.
It was recorded in two sessions in France, while they were in the midst of touring, and produced by the band members.

Obscured by Clouds is the soundtrack to the Barbet Schroeder film La Vallée, and it plays that way. Of course, it’s possible to make the argument that Pink Floyd’s music of the early ‘70s usually played as mood music, similar to film music, but it had structure and a progression. Here, the instrumentals float pleasantly, filled with interesting textures, yet they never seem to have much of a purpose. Often, they seem quite tied to their time, either in their spaciness or in the pastoral folkiness, two qualities that are better brought out on the full-fledged songs interspersed throughout the record.
Meanwhile, thanks to David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, and Syd Barrett a.k.a. Pink Floyd, likewise to Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix.
