OFW killed in Aklan motorcycle crash

AKLAN — An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) died on the spot after losing control of his motorcycle in Barangay Man-up, Altavas, Aklan, on Saturday evening, May 16.

Police identified the 33-year-old victim only as alias “Rony,” married, and a resident of Barangay Camansi, Batan, Aklan.

According to the Altavas Municipal Police Station, the victim was traveling from Barangay Cabangila toward the town of Batan at around 9 p.m. Upon reaching a curved portion of the road, the victim reportedly lost control of his motorcycle due to speeding.

The motorcycle crashed, causing the victim’s head to hit a concrete wall.

Responding police officers rushed to the scene after receiving a call from Barangay Man-up captain Cielito Ureta at around 9:50 p.m. Police found the victim lying on the road with fatal head injuries, which caused his instantaneous death.

The victim’s body was brought to a local funeral parlor and is scheduled for a post-mortem examination./PN
