BACOLOD City – For alleged illegal gambling, four persons were arrested in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
They were Joey Pedroza, Paul Leonard Cañete, Ruzzel Villegas, and Renato Biare.
Police chanced upon the suspects engaging in online sabong (cockfighting) around 3:50 p.m. on Sept. 18.
Police seized a cellular phone and P615 bet money.
The men were taken to the Sagay City police station. Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling, would be filed against them./PN
