BACOLOD City – An ordinance has extended the city government’s Business One-Stop Shop.
Originally the initiative was only until today, but the Sangguniang Panlungsod passed an ordinance moving the deadline to Feb. 28.
Councilor Caesar Distrito said they approved the ordinance on Wednesday upon the request of Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
Permits and Licensing Division (PLD) head Stella Rose Rayos yesterday said she learned about the ordinance from the news but had yet to receive a copy.
The PLD will just have to follow, said Rayos. This also means a 20-percent processing fee discount may still be afforded to anyone who will transact with the division until Feb. 28, she said.
In asking for the extension, Leonardia told the city council there were still “a number” of establishments yet to renew their business permits.
Processing within the Business One-Stop Shop period will help establishment owners avoid 25 percent in surcharges, Rayos said.
The Business One-Stop Shop is a shortened system in applying for or renewing business permits.
Participating agencies where businesses get permits — Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System, and barangays (for barangay clearances), among others — will be asked to stay longer, said Rayos.
Some 11,700 establishment owners have transacted at the Business One-Stop Shop from Jan. 3 to 19. City hall aims to accommodate around 25,000./PN
