ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Government has officially opened nominations for the Outstanding Ilonggo Awards, which recognize ordinary citizens whose selfless service, compassion, and dedication have made an extraordinary impact on their communities.
Held as part of the 89th Iloilo City Charter Day celebration, the awards honor Ilonggos whose everyday actions contribute to the city’s continued growth, progress, and development.
Whether a jeepney or tricycle driver, a sari-sari store owner, a street sweeper, a janitor, a member of the uniformed services, or any other hardworking citizen, the Outstanding Ilonggo Awards shine a spotlight on everyday heroes whose quiet acts of service help build a better Iloilo City.
The search is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old and have demonstrated exceptional service, volunteerism, leadership, innovation, or meaningful contributions to the community. Nominees must have created lasting and sustainable positive change, possess good moral character, and have no pending criminal case.
Nominations may be submitted by individuals, organizations, barangays, schools, institutions, or community groups. Self-nominations are also accepted, provided the required supporting documents and endorsements are submitted. Nominations from local government offices, however, will not be accepted.
Entries may be submitted in either English or Hiligaynon to the Public Information Office, 5th Floor, Iloilo City Hall, on or before July 20, 2026.
The Iloilo City Government encourages the public to nominate deserving Ilonggos whose extraordinary acts of kindness, volunteerism, leadership, and public service continue to inspire others and make a lasting difference in their communities.
