OTOP.ph hubs in Aklan showcase local products

KALIBO, Aklan – Foreign and domestic tourists may now check out the One Town One Product (OTOP) Hubs strategically located along the national highway in the capital town of Kalibo and at D’Mall in Boracay Island to savor the best products of this province.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6, through the DTI Aklan Provincial Office, led the launching of the OTOP.ph Hub in Kalibo, Aklan on April 24. The center is housed at the Jocyl’s Food Products building along Tigayon Highway in Kalibo. Jocyl’s Food Products serves as the co-operator of the OTOP.ph Hub.

On April 26, another kiosk for OTOP.ph Hub was opened at D’Mall in Boracay Island with the Hugod Aklanon Producers Association as its co-operator. The center is the 19th OTOP.ph Hub launched in the country by the DTI, said to OTOP Next Generation project manager Leon Flores.

DTI regional director Rebecca Rascon lauded DTI Aklan for launching two OTOP.ph Hubs in a week. She acknowledged the strong partnership between the DTI and MSMEs in the province.

Rascon said that the OTOP.ph Hub will house all the products of the province and will serve as a one stop shop pasalubong center for foreign and local tourists. The shop shall likewise inform the people of the existing one-town, one-product in the province./PN
