Over 2,000 Negrenses receive health cards

BACOLOD City – Over 2,000 Negrenses can now enjoy free consultations and other health care benefits in the government-run hospitals and other participating state-owned healthcare facilities in the province.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) cards to 616 and 1,535 residents of Candoni and Hinobaan towns in Negros Occidental, respectively.

NOCHP beneficiaries and their dependents are eligible to free outpatient care such as consultations with full course treatment and medicines, and subsidized in-patient care in provincial government-run hospitals and other participating state-owned healthcare facilities.

According to NOCHP, a total of 8,383 Hinoba-an dwellers were granted with health program cards as of October this year.

Meanwhile, 4,525 residents of Candoni are now certified NOCHP members.

The provincial government’s NOCHP implementation aimed to provide holistic health care to indigent locals, in partnership with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, the Department of Health and the local government units.(With a report from PIA/PN)
